Seicomart, an authentically Japanese convenience store group, was first established in Hokkaido in 1971. Since that time, we have progressed ahead both through innovation and experience. We have designed and put into place a comprehensive distribution system. We have expanded our convenience store chain to over 1000 stores in all Seicomart group. At the same time, Seicomart has grown into 20 affiliated companies including those dealing with systems development, distribution and product development, all which work together to support and foster our growing enterprise. We believe our motivation, our progress, and our success, springs from the creative drive that can be seen among all levels within the company. In practice this means we are not satisfied with what things are. Rather, we are driven forward by a clear vision to reinvent ourselves. |

We approach our accomplishments with a sense of progress rather than completion. To turn our visions for the company into reality, personnel direct their enthusiasm and their desire for action into their routine tasks as well as their special projects. At the personal level, all of us in the company are mindful of the need for continuous self-improvement. |

THE PHOENIX LOGO

The Seicomart logo was designed in association with a design and research company in New York. The emblem signifies rebirth from the old and continuity into the new. The legendary Phoenix, as it appears in Egyptian mythology, has a life span that stretches some 500 years. Toward the end of its life, The Phoenix burns its nest and itself before new life emerges from the ashes it has created. In this transformation, it is considered to be immortal. An analogy can be drawn between the narrative developed in the myth and the changes that involve Seicomart as the company reemerges with the complex social and business environment of the new millennium. |

Since its beginnings, Seicomart has adhered to the basic practice of always guaranteeing fresh, healthy and safe products at reasonable prices. Our company prides itself on being able to manufacture, package and distribute fresh food products. We also thoroughly test our merchandise before distribution. Furthermore, we make use of the best information technology available today. We believe these investments are necessary for the ongoing and future development of our merchandise. Our total food manufacturing and distribution system is maintained both rigorously and scientifically.
